FAQs

As different individuals- students & associates along with Dr Daisy V Sha(h) have created different sections of FAQs, these sections have varying formats. Also, as some subjects overlap each other in concepts, some of these FAQs too overlap each other – we can’t help repeating some contents of FAQs at some places.

If your question is not answered below, please send us an email at spiritual.arts@yahoo.com. We will respond within a week at most.

Reiki

Q 1: What are the benefits of Reiki healing?

Ans:  Reiki is the Universal Life Force /Energy, part of every being. The Reiki healing is the healing with that energy. Actually the Reiki healing is called Usui Shikhi Ryoho i.e. Usui System of Reiki Healing (devised by Dr Mikao Usui). Thus, Reiki and Reiki Healing are two separate terms.

The Reiki healing

  •  Aids the body to release stress and physical pain
  • Calms, nurtures & comforts
  • Creates deep relaxation
  • Relieves & prevents burnout
  • Aids better sleep
  • Aids digestion
  • Triggers & accelerates the body's self-healing abilities
  • Assists the body in cleaning itself from toxins
  • Helps cleanse emotions
  • Improves and maintains health
  • Reduces blood pressure
  • Increases circulation
  • Reduces some of the side effects of drugs and helps the body to recover from drug therapy after surgery and chemotherapy
  • For better absorption of medication -at times reducing medication as a result
  • Aids the breaking of addictions
  • Develops intuition
  • Helps spiritual growth
  • Inculcates new understanding in the spirit of our lives
  • Removes energy blockages, adjusts the energy flow of the endocrine system bringing the body into balance and harmony
  • Balances various systems of the body
  • Supports the immune system
  • Increases vitality and postpones the aging process
  • Raises the vibrational frequency of the body
  • Promotes wholeness of Mind, Body & Spirit

When the flow of the Life Force Energy is disrupted, weakened or blocked, emotional or health problems tend to occur. Imbalances can be caused from many situations occurring in our lives, such as: emotional or physical trauma, injury, negative thoughts and feelings, including fear, worry, doubt, anger, anxiety, negative self-talk, toxicity, nutritional depletion, destructive lifestyle and relationships, neglect of self and lack of love for oneself or others,  emotions that are not expressed in a healthy way.

Long term practice of whole-body Reiki therapy will restore the general condition of the body. It will open the energy channels (Naadis), and this will allow the body to deal with stress and build-up toxins, and cope with anxiety and depression.

A Reiki healing session can induce an extremely comfortable state of being that can bring alteration in the client’s consciousness.

Reiki will seal holes in the natural auric protection, thus protecting us from energy leakages & from attacks on our energies.

Reiki helps with acute (injuries, infection, etc) and chronic problems (asthma, eczema, headaches, etc.) Reiki will also provide additional energy required to recover from illness.

When a person is in good health, regular therapy will increase the body’s built-in defenses. This will manifest itself as confidence and outward harmony in dealing with everyday events. The person will gain a positive outlook on life.

If used with other natural therapies (meditation, crystals, aroma therapy, Bach Flower remedies, homeopathy, etc.) Reiki will reinforce their effect. It also enhances the health care the patient receives in the hospital or from other health care providers. Many health care professionals are using Reiki’s healing powers in their clinical settings while others are hiring Reiki healers in their clinics & hospitals.

It is beneficial to the health of woman (even pregnant), man, children and it is also excellent to be used on animals (dogs, cats, horses), plants, water, food etc.

Q 2: What are the benefits of learning Reiki Healing?

Ans: When it is evident during your Reiki healing sessions that healing will take a long time, it makes sense to learn Reiki healing yourself.

In some cases, it is beneficial to heal ourselves with Reiki along side receiving healing from a professional Reiki Healer to accelerate /support the healing process.

Also you may learn Reiki for other reasons mentioned in Ans # 1.

In Spiritual Arts 3 course, along with Reiki touch healing, you learn how to send remote healings, advance Reiki meditations that harmonize the energies of the chakras. you also learn how to teach Reiki healing & give Reiki attunements to the students. You also learn how to send attunements to others at a distance, & the values and spiritual orientation of a true Reiki Master.

Karuna Reiki

Q: What are the benefits of Karuna Reiki?

Ans: Karuna Reiki means compassionate handling of Reiki energy. It is the motivating quality of all enlightened beings. Karuna Reiki strengthens our connection to our guides, Angels and higher self, who have tremendous compassion for beings on the Earth.

Most of us are blinded to our goals in life, and Karuna Reiki along with traditional Usui Reiki symbols will help you gain insight to your life’s purpose. The Karuna Reiki symbols are useful with past life issues, karmic release, breaking up negative patterns and in opening the lower charkas, and healing our connection to mother Earth. The attunements are very powerful,  & the energy from Karuna Reiki is very gentle. Note: You must have traditional Usui Reiki 2nd Degree to do Karuna Reiki Degrees 1 and 2, and you must be a Traditional (Usui) Reiki Master to complete Karuna Reiki Mastership course. (In Spiritual Arts 3 course, traditional Usui Reiki & Karuna Reiki, both are taught upto the final level i.e upto 3rd degree)

Q: Why should I learn Karuna Reiki along with traditional Usui Reiki? (Answer by Dr Daisy)

Ans: No, you don't need to. The Traditional Usui Reiki discipline has all the tools & philosophical concepts required for practicing healing & spreading Reiki through teaching & attunements.

Karuna Reiki is a methodology to enhance the Traditional Usui Reiki techniques -very helpful for professional healers. It gives a healer subtle tools of directing energy flow, using many sacred symbols, helping to clear naadis effectively. It also gives insights to connect our healing prayers to the Otherworld effectively & safely -helpful for psychically sensitive people.

Due to multiple activities at Spiritual Arts, traditional Usui Reiki & Karuna Reiki are taught together. Practically it is not impossible for me to provide different schedules for all the subjects I teach. So, the subjects which are closely interconnected are combined to form a single course. I regret that I am not able to teach traditional Usui Reiki & Karuna Reiki separately. There are always other Reiki and Karuna Reiki Masters who may gladly teach you these subjects separately.

Yoga Sutras - One of the Six Darshanas (Shada-Darshanas)

Q: What is Yoga Sutras?

Ans: Patanjali's Yoga Sutras are a good summarization of yogic philosophy. It is the landmark scripture on classical yoga, & approaches the eternal psychological, philosophical and spiritual questions that preoccupy so many people. Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras are four books of clear and concise statements that explain the goal, the benefits, and the methods of Yoga.  Written around 200 B.C., the Sutras are just as helpful today for those who are serious about Yoga. The Yoga Sutras are not a philosophy or religious book to be studied with the intellect or ordinary mind, but rather it is an experiential workbook that is grasped by an open heart. Understanding and learning the Yoga Sutras by itself can be a vain intellectual diversion/distraction, while the true purpose of yogic system is in understanding the Authentic Self which resides in All -- which shines forth through the fog of ignorance (avidya) that has grown up around the eyes of the true seeker. The Yoga Sutras is neither a philosophy, a belief system, a religion, or any other "ism" -- bereft of ideology, dogma, propaganda or attachment to ideas. The sutras do not have anything to do with rote memorization of facts nor to mechanical obedience to creed, moral activities, region, nation, race, sex, or pride. With its help, we are free to entertain the highest potential deepest meaning which is Patanjali's genius and source of his inspiration.

At Spiritual Arts, following topics are covered extensively while teaching Yoga Sutras:

  • What is the mind?
  • Chitta: the 'lake' of the mind
  • Vrittis: the thought waves that continually arise in the 'mind lake'
  • Techniques to calm the vrittis
  • Understanding the nature and function of the mind
  • Mental obstacles to meditation
  • Overcoming the 'afflictions' that disturb consciousness with Kriya-yoga
  • Positive means of taking responsibility for your own actions
  • Ashtanga yoga: Yamas, Niyamas, Following Anuvratta & Mahaavratta, Mastering asana, Pranayama as the link between the physical and mental disciplines, Pratyahara – preliminary to the higher stages, Dharana, dhyana and samadhi
  • The art of conscious living
  • Freedom from attachment and ignorance
  • Siddhis: psychic powers: How one gets these powers, their true purpose, & how to handle these powers
  • The art of contemplation
  • Self-realisation / Kaivalya

Aura Reading and Color Therapy

Q: Can I learn to see the aura?

Ans: Yes, everyone can, but it requires a great deal of effort and discipline. Some parts of the aura can be easily seen with few basic methods of enhancing your third eye chakra’s vision. But to be able to see the aura in all its subtleties is not something that is accomplished overnight.

Q: Can I work with the aura if I can’t see it?

Ans: Yes! You don’t need to see the aura to work with it any more than you need to see your heart to know it’s beating. By sensing the aura and understanding its characteristics, you can apply it in your life and see results.

Q: Does the aura change?

Ans: Yes, parts of our aura are constantly changing depending on how we’re thinking and feeling. That’s our saving grace. Mostly some part of Aura remain stubbornly unchanged indicating our strong rigid energies that indicate that we need to work on that part; heal it.

Q: Does everyone have an aura?

Ans: Yes. Even if one is not aware of it, every living soul (humans, animals, plants etc) has an auric field.  We even endow the objects we use with traces of our auric energies. Also, as surfaces of all objects (e.g. chair) are covered with microorganisms, their collective auras appear to be the object’s aura they adhere to. Even air, water, land etc has it’s own vitality, energies & aura. None the less, their aura also includes auras of several microorganisms attached to them.

Q: Is the anatomy of the aura the same for everyone?

Ans: Yes. Although no two auras are exactly alike, the basic structure and components of the aura are the same for everyone. Also, different species will have different auric components.

Q: How do I go about improving my aura?

Ans: Your aura improves with your every good word, thought, act, and deed. And you can change your aura by working with spiritual energy.

An aura reader and healer can improve anybody’s aura usually with following steps:

·         Scanning of the aura, the energy centres (chakras), energy channels (nadis) and energy bodies (koshas)

·         Location of any blockages on the physical, mental and emotional level

·         Clearing of these blockages

·         Balancing of the energy centres (chakras)

·         Balancing of the aura

·         Opening of the aura and attunement to the highest possible energy level the person can attain at this moment

·         Opening and expansion of the aura, which is necessary to keep the healing as well as the self-healing energy working after the initiation.

The above are only very general features of a healing session. Each healing process is individual depending on the person’s healing requirement. Many times we connect with the subconscious of the person, talk to them through their subconscious, to clarify and clear blockages and especially emotional trauma (at the same time the person can be thousand of miles away and not even aware of the process). At other times, we connect to the person’s spiritual guides from the non-physical planes and find more about the person’s karmic patterns before we proceed with healing. At some times, we have to leave healing totally to the person’s angel guides and witness the process in amazement, giving support wherever needed. One may simply opt for Color Therapy to heal aura.

Depending upon the person’s energies, we decide on frequencies of the healing. For example, for an anxious student, we give healings 3 times a day during exams. For healing an infant for colds and coughs, generally we give healing once a day. For a person in good general health who needs healing to maintain health, healing once three days or once a week is sufficient. For an emergency patient in hospital, we give repeated healings throughout the day for as many das as required. This are general guidelines.

Q: What is Color Therapy?

Ans: Color Therapy, sometimes called Chromotherapy is a therapy that uses color and light to balance energy wherever our bodies are lacking, be it physical, emotional, spiritual, or mental.

When performing chromotherapy, color and light is applied to specific areas (charkas) and accupoints on the body. Because colors get associated with both positive and negative effects, specific colors and accurate amounts of color are deemed to be critical in healing. Some of the tools used for applying colors are semi-precious gemstones, colored fabrics, bath treatments, and colored glasses. Therapeutic color can be administered in a number of ways, but is often combined with Reiki, Pranic Healing, hydrotherapy and aromatherapy in an attempt to heighten the therapeutic effect. The effects of colors  as advocated by the modern Color therapists is the same as mentioned in Vedas, especially in Vedangas covering astrological topics.

Using the seven colors of the spectrum, Color Therapy aims to balance and enhance our body's energy centres /Chakras and also to help stimulate our body's own healing process. Color Therapy uses color to re-balance the Chakras (our energy centres) that have become depleted of energy. To reduce the overwhelming energies in the Chakras, fasting is suggested that involves avoiding particular colors in food intake, clothes etc.

Q: what a color therapy session involves?

Ans: Color therapy treatment can be used and applied in many ways. A qualified Color therapist though, will know what color to use by way of a consultation. Color treatment can be given in a number of different ways and, as with any therapy, each therapist may have his or her own 'style'.

A Color therapist will help you to understand your need for a certain color/s and also show how you can use these colors in every day life.

The first consultation with a qualified Color Therapist will normally be longer than subsequent visits since time has to be allowed for taking patient details for full discussion of the reason for the visit. The practitioner can then assess the appropriate course of the treatment and discuss the different methods available.

The gemstones, certain kinds of fasting, suggestions on colors by numerological standards etc are also part of color therapy.

At Spiritual Arts, color therapy is part of guidance given in Astrology, Numerology, Graphology and Tarot  consulation & also in Aura Reading consultation. And it is taught as part of Spiritual Arts courses 1 and 3, in different light. In Spiritual Arts course 1, it is taught in reference to Vedic Astrology and in Spiritual Arts course 3, it is taught in reference to Aura Healing. Color therapy practised in both these manners synchronize.

Past-life Recalling and Karmic Healing

Q: What is past-life recalling? What are the benefits of past-life recalling?

Ans: Past Life Recalling is valuable for clearing/healing traumatic experiences in prior lifetimes, which otherwise holds us back from full actualization in this life, and /or is causing distress. Additional benefits (although not a strong reason by itself for past-life recalling sessions) are activating creativity or a valuable talent that was actively expressed in a past life, & has remained latent or unrecognized in this life.

People often have irrational fears, emotional blocks or even physical symptoms that can't be explained by traditional means. Irrational fears that seem to have no basis in one's present life can be carried over from a past life as the result of a traumatic event that occurred a lifetime or even several lifetimes ago. Once a person recognizes and acknowledges the source of that fear he or she is able to let go (problems occurred in the first place because the person didn’t let go of the emotions generated due to some situation in the past-life) , release the past and move forward with the present.

Our actions of past as well as present lives affect our psyche. These traces left on our minds are called samskaaras. These sub-conscious samskaaras shape our lives more than conscious mind, & can affect our physical health, personal relationships or even financial situations.

Past life recalling is by no means a cure-all but it can help people to understand themselves in a way they never thought they could. It is important to find a qualified professional if you choose to seek past life therapy. Each session usually lasts an average of an hour, possibly longer and the prices may vary.

At Spiritual Arts, Past-life Recalling sessions are extensive healing-cum-training sessions, which take longer, but it is made sure that the student is then able to explore past-life memories & resultant samskaaras on her /his own.

Past Life Recalling can be the focus of a meditation session with a point of concentration (as at Spiritual Arts; it is also backed up by extensive foundation of Yoga Sutras at Spiritual Arts) or it can be initiated within hypnosis session. Some people have also experienced past life recalling while playing a piece of music, painting etc, where the level of concentration is combined with an activity that has a connection with some past-life events that have formed strong samskaaras on them. A session may include other experiences in addition to recalling a past-life memories, such as a recalling past of this life, etheric plane communication, existence between our two consecutive physical lives on this planet and/or working with spiritual guides. A key-part of the process is loving, accepting, or making peace with things as they are (or as they were in the past life), thus freeing the energy of transformation. Thus, therapeutic reframing of subconscious mind can occur.

Nonetheless here are the benefits of Past Life Recalling in a nutshell:

Clearing/healing trauma: This is the most common aspect of healing in past life recalling. When trauma is encountered, options include changing the way you’ve processed the trauma before, and view the life as a whole from the perspective of the Higher Self.

Healing actions or karmas (seeing yourself as the perpetrator rather than the victim): Healing involves experiencing remorse, either receiving the forgiveness of the victim(s) or performing an appropriate atonement, and obtaining forgiveness of ourselves for our actions.

Contacting creativity: Most of us have had a variety of talents and desirable attributes at different points in our many past lives. We can journey to one or more lifetimes (with or without first naming a talent or attribute we would like to contact) and bring forward it’s essence to help us now.

Rewriting past-life contracts: Part of our karma involving another person may stem from a promise or agreement made in a past life with that person, such as "I'll never leave you.” It could be a promise to ourselves, “So long I don’t kill so & so, I won’t lie down to relax.” After accessing the memories of the lifetime where the contract originated, the past life therapist, together with a Spiritual Guide of the client (usually the Higher Self) ascertains whether there exists any outstanding debt or obligation, if so performing an appropriate atonement, and then revising the contract in a way most supportive of the client's present needs.

Grounding/Affirming: While this benefit of Past Life Recalling seems inconsequential—it is the most profound and significant reason for engaging in the process. Many clients after having completed several Past Life Recallings state that they feel more grounded in who they are; now they understand why they have certain characteristics, passions, desires, values, talents, concerns, etc. and can use the information to live a happier and more balanced life in the now.

People often ask—“What if I only think the information is a past life, what if I am only making it up?” There are checks and balances to know if the information is truly a past life, which your past-life therapist would be happy to help with although some historical data will also have to be checked by the client on her /his own.

Psychic Self-Defense

Q : Does a practitioner of divination & healing methods need to be careful about any un-seen energies? OR Why is psychic self defense part of all the three Spiritual Arts Courses?

Ans: Whenever you provide a reading for someone (the same goes true when you heal someone), you open yourself to another person's life. You can be affected by this on many levels: physical, emotional, mental, psychic/spiritual, consciously and unconsciously. Whether you attribute this to thoughts, feelings and memories that were provoked within you during their session, or to a psychic transference of energy from the querent to you, there can be pronounced after-effects from a reading. When you have not properly filtered psychic energy you can find yourself feeling irritable, anxious, depressed, morose, drained, and/or preoccupied with the querent's situation and/or with similar details from your own life.

Therefore, it is wise to apply some psychic self-defense techniques to your Tarot /Astrological /Aura Reading practice or to the practice of other divination methods. For that matter, it is wise to apply psychic self-defense while meditating and during healing when you open yourself to subtle lesser-known supernatural energies.

Note: Even Grahas are spirits that communicate with sincere astrologers.

Psychic self-defense is a must for psychically sensitive people. Learning to handle one's intuitions, visions (how many times you've heard someone say' "I knew about my father's death before it happened. But didn't know what to do? I was totally shattered”), people's intrusion in your private time (many times, I come across people on my journey, who, while I am brushing my teeth, want me to tell them something about their future from their palms!), horrid publicity campaigns of consumer products, etc. Even when you enlist help of your spiritual angels, you need to make sure that they are your spiritual angels & not some wandering depressive spirit or worse. So, learning to distinguish & protect yourselves is important.

Also, psychic well-being and psychic self-defence are two sides of the same coin, just as are physical health and resistance to disease. Each person (and every living thing) is surrounded by an electromagnetic force field, or AURA that can provide the means to psychic self-defence and to dynamic well-being.
